Scented inks
Scratch-and-sniff is just one of the many ways to use scented inks in printing. A brochure with a scratch-and-sniff panel is an effective way of mass marketing products whose appeal to consumers chiefly depends on a specific aroma. Scented brochures combine the promotional material's look-and-feel with the opportunity to sample the scent - an ideal way to introduce a new scent to a large consumer group!
How does it work?
Silk Screen Holland's Scratch-and-Sniff was developed on the basis of advanced technologies. Silk Screen uses transparent microcapsules filled with a certain all-natural scents that can be incorporated into your printed matter without any nasty side effects. The capsules are protected by a strong, durable and odourless layer. Touching the scent panel lightly with a finger or nail breaks the microcapsules, releasing a cloud of scent. The panel can be used several times and over a long period of time.
Our scented ink range
We have a number of distinctive scents that won't leave you guessing.
We advise printing a picture of the thing that exudes that specific odour, especially with less distinctive scents.
When printing with a lighter fragrance, use lightly scented or scent-free inks to make sure the smell of the offset ink does not gain the upper hand.
The oil for custom-made fragrances must:
# be an essential oil
# contain no alcohol
# contain no water-soluble ingredients
# be delivered in metal containers
# report all details on the packaging
# have a volume of 0.5 litre to allow a proof-test.
