Contact glueSilk Screen Holland's contact glue is a special adhesive with many practical uses such as graphic solutions, folded and glued products and packaging material.
The characteristics of contact glue.
Contact glue is a "dry" layer of glue that is activated by pressing two layers of treated material together. This layer of glue can be applied to your printed matter in any shape or pattern, such as fields, frames and stripes.
Applications.
Contact glue is suitable for eco-packaging, passe-partout, covers, wrappers, greeting and post cards, slides, triptychs, and self-sealing envelopes.
Choice of paper and background.
In order to ensure perfect adhesion, the sheet must be uncoated, matt and porous, such as the reverse side of a one page, uncoated, two-ply sheet.
Applying contact glue to coated sheets could possibly affect adhesion. Contact glue has many conceivable applications.
The glue cannot be applied over printed material as this may result in sparse patches and a less-than-perfect seal.
Sizes and holding space.
Please kind in mind the minimum printing size of 29.7 x 42 cm and a maximum of 52 x 72 cm. Minimum weight of 180 gr/m2. Lighter weights on consultation.
Please allow a three centimetre margin of unglued area at the top and a two centimetre margin on the sides.
Thickening and adhesion.
The contact glue is made of soft latex rubber and is very sturdy and inclined to stick. This usually occurs on smooth paper and when high pressure is applied so the sheets must therefore be separated by hand after delivery and for further processing. This process will not damage your printed material.
We will stack the pallets as little as possible when delivering them to you. Please provide as many extra pallets as you can beforehand. We prefer box pallets. We can pack the sheets upright in the box pallets if so desired and the paper or cardboard supports it.
